Peri-Telescope Round 3

Here's the latest. I still am not sure what to do with the legs to make them more interesting. Functionally they would need to be pistons, but I'm not sure how to spice them up. I added some glowy power tubes, and a few pieces on the main telescope to give it some flare.

Meiling Chen Character Concept

Telescope: Round 2

Here's a quick paint over. I added some flare to the legs, added tubes for fuel and put the fuel cell on the back of the periscope. There's of little moving parts that I can break down for you guys. I still want to add fine detail on a lot of the metal pieces indicating rotation degrees, overall design, etc. Colors are what I chose for my environment for games class, totally changeable. The legs can collapse further into the body now.

Telescopes First Pass

The tripod telescope has the periscope/telescope combination.
Since it is tall, it has the option of collapsing to be shorter or going below deck.
The player rotates their body to move the device 360 degrees.
The handles can rotate like a motorcycle throttle, allowing it to tilt up and down.
Still needs design pass.

This one is shorter than the tripod. This structure is just to show the mechanics of it.
It still needs design pass for the details, style, etc.
Has the overhead periscope like motion to control it.
Player rotates the wheel forward and backward to see up or down.
Player rotates the wheel side to side, causing the platform to pivot so they can see 360 degrees around.
A mini-map appears in the middle of the steering wheel so player can get oriented easily.

The dome is on a platform that pivots on the deck of the ship.
Player uses the handle bars to pivot the dome and adjust view.
Still needs design pass.

Preliminary block-out. I recycled some assets i had and stole other from other models just to get an idea of the shape, silhouette and all the other thing i pretend i did to let the other people think i know what I'm doing. I guess it could be cool with a big latin wing rather than the classic 3 trees. Of course a lot of fine details needs to be added. Feel free to paint over.
